The quest to ‘Be AT PAR’ is our thrust to enable and empower all persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups and dispel the myths on Disability and discover their ‘Abilities’ to be seen ‘AT PAR’.
Economic Employment is as important to a person with disability as to a person not affected with disability; in-fact it is much more. It’s an assumption and myth that they are dependent and cannot be productive members of the community. Given an opportunity they want to work and prove their capability. Persons with disabilities too want to earn a livelihood to meet their basic needs, enjoy social contacts and meet people and economic employment builds confidence and positive attitudes.
Alliance to Promote Abilities and Rehabilitation (ATPAR) is a Limited Liability Partnership firm. This is a social enterprise that aspires to work with marginalized groups, persons with disabilities and their families either directly or with organizations/institutions who work with these groups to build their abilities for Economic Empowerment, Social Inclusion and Rehabilitation.
A team of eminent professionals have come together to facilitate and offer a gamut of services to individuals, educational institutions, Corporates, NGOs, Families and other service providers through consultancy, skill building, mentoring, branding and networking and provide back-end support to enable them to provide quality services and be seen ‘At Par’ in the market.
Nedar Introduction
Network of Entrepreneurs with Disabilities for Assistance and Rehabilitation
ATPAR (Alliance to Promote Abilities and Rehabilitation LLP) is inspired by the spirit and motivation to transform traditional mindsets and dispel the myths on disability and discover the abilities of persons with disabilities to become economically empowered and be seen as contributors “at par” to the National wealth.
ATPAR has imparted basic business knowledge and mentoring support to more than 200 persons with disabilities who are entrepreneurs or wish to start their own enterprises. The intense immersive sessions with practical experience in the NSIC Incubation Centre has motivated more than 50 candidates to start new business soon after training and about seventy percent have enhanced their incomes by applying their learnt knowledge.
This experience though very inspiring for all, there still exists many challenges in the ecosystem which is not inclusive and has not allowed their business to grow and scale. The stakeholders Alumni Meet held on 14 th April 2019 voiced the need to come together for a common purpose to strengthen each other and this lead to the creation of ‘NEDAR’ A Network of Entrepreneurs with Disabilities for Assistance & Rehabilitation – A Hindi word meaning ‘Fearless’ which is symbolic of an entrepreneur who takes risk unmindful of the additional challenges faced due to disabilities!
